International travel medical plans are designed to provide medical cover for people traveling outside their home country and can be purchased for family members visiting you in the US.  These plans cover unforeseen illness, accident and injuries but typically do not cover pre-existing medical conditions.

It is extremely important that in the event your travel dates change, you advise your travel insurance company immediately of the change.  The change must be made prior to the original scheduled departure date AND  prior to revised departure date.  If you forget to call with an earlier or later date, or if you call after the original departure date,  you will not be insured.

Travel insurance plans typically cover for the unforeseen illness, injury, or death to you, a traveling companion or family member.  Unfortunately, “fiancee”  is not included in the definition of  a  family member.  You may refer to the policy certificate for the full details and definitions.

All travel insurance plans have a list of exclusions and limitations. Oftentimes, hazardous sports are listed within the exclusions section of the policy.  Some policies have a rider which can be added to the policy that covers certain sports or activities typically excluded.  Read the policy wording for the full details of the plan to ensure you are covered for a specific activity.
